Lucid Motors issues recall affecting the instrument panel of over 1,100 Air EVs

News emerged today that Lucid Motors has issued its second recall on its flagship Air sedan. According to the American EV automaker, the issue concerns a wired data connection to the instrument panel that may not have been secured properly during a given vehicle’s assembly.

EU renewables plan spotlights Japan’s weak targets as G7 energy meeting kicks off

The EU plans to transition to renewables more than twice as fast as Japan by 2030, according to new analysis released by global energy think tank Ember ahead of the G7 environment, climate, and energy ministers meeting, which kicks off today in Berlin. The ministers will decide whether and how G7 countries will commit to clean power by 2035.

Harley-Davidson selling out its newest electric motorcycle in 18 minutes highlights pent-up demand

When Harley-Davidson first unveiled its original LiveWire electric motorcycle and began taking orders nearly four years ago, the industry was largely in consensus about the bike itself. It scored impressive marks and high acclaim for performance and style, but its sales suffered due to the original lofty price of nearly $30,000 (though the price did drop to $22,000 after entering the LiveWire sub-brand). And so it’s no surprise that ever since the original launch, significant hype has been building for Harley-Davidson’s next lower-cost electric motorcycle.

Stellantis and Samsung SDI announce joint venture to build 33 GWh battery plant in US

Kokomo, Indiana, may not be the location the Beach Boys were singing about, but its definitely the current tune of both Stellantis and Samsung SDI, as the two announced a joint venture to build a US EV battery plant there. Together, the global automaker and battery manufacturer will invest over $2.5 billion to bring a slew of new EV jobs to Kokomo and its surrounding areas.
