Rivian reports producing 2,553 EVs in Q1 of 2022, delivering 1,227 of them

American EV automaker Rivian has shared production totals for Q1 of 2022 less than a month after sharing revised production goals for the year. Despite a slow ramp-up of EV production, Rivian stated that it remains on track to achieve its 2022 output numbers.

Nissan announces it is designing a Lunar Terrain Vehicle for NASA alongside Teledyne and Sierra Space

During the 37th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Teledyne Brown Engineering, along with partners Sierra Space and Nissan North America, announced it is designing a crewed Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) to support future NASA missions on the Moon. All three companies have varying levels of experience in space technology and hope to transport astronauts on future missions.

Here’s how a new US protectionist move could backfire badly on the US solar industry

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) is investigating whether Southeast Asian solar cell manufacturers are using parts made in China that would normally be subject to a tariff. In a survey released today, most of the US solar industry asserted that the DOC investigation will devastate their businesses, as they rely on solar module imports to meet growing demand.

Sono Motors and Valmet Automotive sign terms to manufacture Sion SEVs in Finland, but will hike prices again

Sono Motors announced it has signed a term sheet with contract manufacturer, Valmet Automotive, to produce the latter’s Sion solar electric vehicle (SEV) in Finland beginning in 2023. Due to increased manufacturing costs and a need for additional funding, the Sion SEV will soon see a second price increase in less than six months.
