Michigan to get 200 more EV chargers, 100 of which will be fast chargers, by 2024

Michigan public utility Consumers Energy, which serves 6.7 million of Michigan’s 10 million residents, today announced that it will install 200 new electric vehicle chargers across the state by the end of 2023. And that includes 100 fast chargers.

‘Proterra Powered’ electric bus travels 1,700 miles using only public chargers, exceeding 300 miles during certain legs

ABC Companies, a North American motorcoach seller, announced it has completed a 1,700 mile trip across the Pacific Northwest using a Van Hool CX45E all-electric bus. The electric bus was “Proterra Powered” and traveled from Newark, California to Seattle, Washington and back using only public charging stations. The trip helps showcase the potential of battery-electric bus capabilities, as well as the growing charging infrastructure to support long-distance electric vehicle travel in the US.

Tesla moves plans for ‘diner/drive-in theater’ Supercharger station to Hollywood

Elon Musk says that Tesla is moving its plan to build a “diner and drive-in theater” at a Supercharger station in Santa Monica, California, to a new, undisclosed location in Hollywood.

It’s also not going to be a “retro-looking” one but a “futuristic” diner apparently.

Double your e-bike’s range? Priority introduces new add-on battery, bumping electric bike’s capacity

I ride electric bikes all the time. It’s kind of my thing. It’s a blast because I get an awesome ride experience without the pain and discomfort that normally comes from a long and arduous pedal bike ride.

But nothing harshes a good e-biking vibe quite like a low battery. So Priority decided to nip that problem in the bud by introducing a range extender battery for its popular Current e-bike, doubling the capacity and thus doubling the e-bike’s range.

Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week: Why does this electric garbage truck look so cool?!

After I had such a good time pretending to operate my own private fire service with the mini electric fire truck I found last week, I think I’ll stick with the municipal services for just a bit longer. And considering the famed high-wages that garbage men are supposed to receive, perhaps its time I bought an electric garbage truck and take this dumpster fire on the road.

The garbage e-truck in this week’s edition of the Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week will make that keenly possible, and I’ll sure be doing municipal waste collection in style!
