Aventon’s electric bikes have always impressed me with their build quality and attention to detail. When the company launched an updated version of its popular Pace 500 e-bike, I knew to expect more of the same excellent qualities. Now that I’ve been able to spend some quality time testing the bike, I’m even more convinced of the brand’s commitment to giving its customers more than they anticipated.

Xos unveils new medium- and heavy-duty commercial EVs plus Xosphere fleet platform

Commercial EV manufacturer Xos, Inc. unveiled three new products as part of its “fleet week” celebration today, including new medium- and heavy-duty all-electric trucks. VW wants to resurrect Scout as a Rivian-like off-road EV brand

VW’s advisory board is expected to approve a proposal tomorrow to spin off a new EV company centered around off-road vehicles, as first reported by WSJ.

The company will resurrect the classic nameplate from the International Harvester Scout, a Jeep-like off-road vehicle from the 60s and 70s, and fill a similar niche as the Rivian R1T as an electric competitor to off-road enthusiast trucks like the Ford Raptor, Jeep Gladiator and the like, but at a lower price point than the Rivian.

United Rentals agrees to purchase 500 F-150 Lightnings and 30 E-Transits from Ford Pro

United Rentals announced an agreement with Ford Pro to purchase hundreds of EVs to support its fleet sustainability goals for North America. The initial order is for 500 F-150 Lightning pickups and 30 E-Transit vans. The Ford EVs will begin deliveries to United Rentals later this year to be use by both the rental company and its customers.

Canoo reports over $125M net loss for Q1, admitting ‘substantial doubt’ it can continue

Following the recent Q1 2022 report from EV startup Canoo, we find the feature image rather fitting. After admitting a net loss over $125 million for the first three months of this year, Canoo is very much stuck out in the woods. With a lack of current cash on hand to realistically get through Q2, Canoo admitted “there is substantial doubt” about the company’s ability to get out of those financial woods either.
