GM’s new EV battery cells promise more affordable, long-range electric trucks and SUVs

The 2025 Chevy Silverado EV already offers up to 492 miles of range, but GM promises to unlock even more at a lower cost. GM and LG Energy Solution unveiled the “first-ever” lithium manganese-rich (LMR) prismatic EV battery cells. The new battery cells will be used in upcoming GM EV models, especially trucks and SUVs.

China’s XPeng Motors continues globalization with market entry in Italy

After recently announcing plans to expand its market presence in Europe, Chinese EV Automaker XPeng Motors has officially opened up shop in Italy, one of the top five markets in the region. The move supports XPeng’s plans to have at least half of its sales come from markets outside of China.

A cop nearly smeared me across the bike lane. Here’s what went wrong [Video]

As perhaps one of the most prolific electric bike reviewers on the internet, I spend a lot of time riding city streets and have occasionally wondered if this is the way I’ll go out one day. Yesterday, I nearly had the answer to that question as a police cruiser almost smeared me across three lanes of traffic.

It happened to occur while I was in the middle of filming a review of a Velotric Breeze 1 electric bike. With the rare opportunity of catching a moment like that on camera, it turned into a chance for me to take a second look at what I did right as well as what I might have done wrong to wind up in that situation.
