Kia just launched the +500 hp EV9 GT in Korea for just over $60,000

Kia’s flagship electric SUV just got a high-performance upgrade. On Tuesday, Kia launched the EV9 GT in South Korea with over 500 horsepower, a sporty new design, and a price tag just north of $60,000. That’s not too bad for a fully loaded three-row electric SUV. This $500M EV battery material plant is the first of its kind in the US

Japan’s UBE Corporation has broken ground in Louisiana on what will be the US’s only dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) plant – key components for lithium-ion batteries in EVs and battery storage. DMC is also used in semiconductors.
