Tesla Cybercab program manager exits ahead of launch

Victor Nechita, who served as Tesla’s vehicle program manager for the Cybercab, has announced he is leaving the company. The departure comes just days after the first Cybercab production unit rolled off the assembly line at Giga Texas, adding to an accelerating exodus of senior program managers at the automaker.

Elon Musk threatens to halt Tesla Giga Berlin expansion over union vote

Elon Musk sent a pre-recorded video message to Tesla’s 10,700 workers at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg in Grünheide, warning that the planned expansion of the plant will not happen if IG Metall gains influence in the upcoming works council election.

The threat comes days before the critical vote and amid an escalating conflict between Tesla management and Germany’s most powerful industrial union.

That awesome wireless charger for electric bikes just hit a surprise hurdle

For the last few years, one of the coolest bits of e-bike tech I’ve seen didn’t involve more power, bigger batteries, or new motor designs. It involved getting rid of the charger cable altogether.

Last summer, I covered Dutch startup Tiler’s newly developed wireless charging tile that lets an e-bike charge directly through its kickstand. You roll the bike into place, lower the stand onto the tile, and the battery starts charging automatically via an integrated magnetic coil. There are no plugs to deal with, no dangling wires, and no forgetting to bring your charger to work.
